LeighAnne Cooper Official

LeighAnne Cooper is a country singer who hails originally from Jamestown, Ohio and currently graces the small town of Washington Court House, Ohio with her lively brand of music that calls to mind all the classic legendary female country musicians.

LeighAnne is one of those gifted few people born with incredible talent.  The ability to evoke in the listener whatever emotion she wishes.  Whether she has fans leaping to their feet and dancing in the aisles, or reaching for their Kleenex, prepare to turn over your soul as LeighAnne pours out her own in song.

Her first gig was in front of her mom, with an upright sweeper as a mic.  She wrapped a towel around her head (because she *needed* "long brown hair" for this gig.)  As a young singer, LeighAnne wished to mimic Marie Osmond as she entertained her mother.  But, her mom told her to always be her. That has stayed with her ever since.

There's just something about her singing; it'll take ya back to a simpler time.

About singing country music, LeighAnne says:

"My parents were really good about making sure my sister and I were well traveled.  They believed that traveling allowed you to see how other people lived…it taught us empathy…it taught us ambition.  We traveled several times a year and my dad had an 8 track cassette player that played Tammy/George  Loretta/Conway….Lynn Anderson, LindaRonstadtWillie Nelson, Don Williams and The Statler Brothers (who I loved with all my heart)  I was allowed to sing from the backseat, as long and as loud as I wanted to, and my dad spent a lot of time encouraging me from the front seat. I loved to hear stories about country artists in the 50’s and 60’s and the kinds of lives they led…My dad always encouraged me to read peoples stories.  I spent a lot of time in that back seat, listening to music and reading anything I could get my hands on...

Sunday...beautiful Sunday!

This week ThunderBay Band is headlining at the Lebanon Grand Opry and I'm comin' along for the ride!

This is a great band of fellows that have been playing together for about 30 years...They host a Monday Night Jam at the Middletown Moose Lodge ....they pretty much know what they're doing!  <wink>

I sent Mike a couple of new songs that are exciting and I can't wait to do them!

If you haven't seen this band, or even if you have, come on out to Lebanon Grand Opry this Saturday and enjoy some fantastic music!

See you up the road!

Ross Country Jamboree was EVERYTHING I expected and more this week....!!!

Jeff and I had a lovely ride over to Scottsburg early Saturday morning.  We took Rt 50 over to avoid that mess in Louisville and it was just a beautiful morning and a really nice ride.

The band at Ross Country is just amazing!  There is no other way to put it and the other guests, Kimberly Lynn and Marc Masingo were both just so talented!  It was a great show!

Can't wait to be back at Ross Country Jamboree in June for a Western Swing Theme show...
No..I can't yodel...but it never kept me from trying!

This week we'll be at Paint Valley Jamboree in the beautifully restored Paxton Theatre in Bainbridge Ohio.  This show is one of the longest running live stage shows EVER and it sure is a great place to play!

Chad (my singing sensation son!) will be competing in the Jamboree Sings! contest that night and I'll be lending some support to feature Herb Day!  It is bound to be a great show...don't miss it!

Saturday, I'm happy to be appearing at Southern Ohio Opry with Paul Blankenship, Bobby Blanton, Pam Ash and all the Southern Ohio Opry Band!  We are gonna tear it up!

Hope you can make a show this week. Support your live, local venues!  These people work so hard to bring quality, family, traditional entertainment to their communities....Please support them!

See you up the road!
